This part of the Heritage Group is not yet fully functioning due to lack of volunteers.
We would very much like to set up this part of the Heritage Group along similar lines to that of Whittington & Fisherwick Environment Group (WFEG). This group was set up in 2007 and has achieved a huge amount since then. Some of their achievements:
Lowering the villages’ carbon footprint
Setting up fairs, films and speakers to inform and involve the community
Setting up a monthly Village Market with local produce being sold
Carried out energy audits on homes and given out 2000 low energy light bulbs
Funded of low energy lighting, air-source heat pumps and insulation of community buildings
Facilitated the installation of solar panels and wind turbines through the village.
